The Rochester
Literature Festival (RLF), in conjunction with Medway Libraries, is
hosting a Literary Potlatch at Strood Library on March 23rd.
An ancient Native
American word, the purpose of a Potlatch was the re-distribution and
reciprocity of wealth, with all invited to ‘bring something to the
table’. The wealth, in this instance, will take the form of:
‘Parashare’ - sharing a paragraph from your favourite book, or a
piece of your own writing; sharing knowledge and opinions via speed
debating or simply sharing some fun with writers’ games!
This networking
event for readers, writers and creative minds alike will run from
10am – 12noon, and be followed by an informal lunch time get
together at the Parana Caffe, a short walk away, for those who wish
to continue their conversations.
The event is free
and you can secure your place by calling 01634 335890.
